Mary Ellis
Mary describes growing up in Hull during the 1920s and 1930s among the Jewish community, although she was not from a Jewish family. She shares some memories of growing up in the early part of the 20th Century including the strictness of schools, seeing Amy Johnson at Hull City Hall and elephants at Hull Fair. She also talks about her wartime work in Birmingham and the Americas as well as social activities, her marriage and motherhood.
