Mary describes growing up in the 1920’s and 30’s in Hull among the Jewish community though she was not from a Jewish family. She shares some memories of growing up in the early part of the 20th century including the strictness of schools, seeing Amy Johnson at the city hall and elephants at Hull Fair. She also talks about her wartime work in Birmingham and the Americas as well as social activities, her marriage and motherhood.
