Siddi Maju was born in Sierra Leone in the 1970s. He has visited Hull several times following his first visit in 2006 and has very recently moved to Hull after many years of living in Liverpool. He compares the similarities between the two port cities and their links with slavery. Siddi gives a background on certain elements of African history with particular focus on African seamen and their families in both Liverpool and Hull.
