Ken talks about his early memories of growing up down Thanet Road, passing his 11 plus and going to Riley High School. He discusses working for Priestman’s, his involvement in unions, the experience of being on strike, being ‘blacklisted’ and his later work for British Gas. He also tells us the fascinating story of how he found out that his real father was a Danish seaman and not the man who raised him.
