The Amy Johnson Scrapbook

Amy_Johnson_portrait

Pioneering aviatrix Amy Johnson was born in Hull in 1903 and became one of the most influential and inspirational women of the twentieth century. She was the first woman to fly solo from England to Australia and set a string of other records throughout her career.

Although it is now 75 years since her untimely death at the age of just 37, Amy’s inspirational story lives on and her life is being commemorated through the Amy Johnson Festival.

These recordings have been collected by Glynis Charlton for The Amy Johnson Festival 2016. The Amy Johnson Scrapbook is a fascinating collection of interviews that will be held in the Untold Hull Archive.
